God’s Sudden Interventions

I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass. Psalm 91:15

You may feel as if the enemy is strangling you, and you may be experiencing tests and trials, but God has good news for you! Change is going to happen in your life and in your ministry, and it’s going to happen suddenly. Be ready to receive an immediate Word, and be ready to act upon that Word.

The Word of God is full of people who had “suddenly” experiences. Here are just a few for your study.

  • Joseph went from being in jail to standing before Pharaoh. One minute, no one would listen to him. The next minute, the most powerful man in the country was asking his opinion.
  • Blind Bartimaeus experienced a sudden intervention. One minute, he was sitting on the roadside as a beggar, and the next minute, after telling Jesus what he wanted, Bartimaeus no longer was blind. His sight was restored!
  • Suddenly, God brought together Cornelius and Simon Peter through the intervention of an angel and a vision. Cornelius’ household was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, and the Jews were astonished at what God had done.
  • One minute, Peter was in the boat, and the next minute he was walking on the water in response to Jesus’ invitation.
  • In Acts chapter nine, the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ had an enemy named Saul. He was smart and tenacious. He had authority because he was good at his job, which was to destroy Christians. But as he journeyed on his mission, “suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven.” The Lord took the enemy of the Church, filled him with the Holy Ghost and used one of His disciples to do it.
  • Paul and Silas were in jail. They had been beaten and humiliated. This was a literal midnight hour, but God moves in the midnight! At midnight, Paul and Silas didn’t complain; they prayed and sang praises unto God, even though they were hurting. They gave praises unto God even though they were humiliated. Suddenly, there was an earthquake so great that the foundation of the prison was shaking. Immediately, all the doors were opened and their bands were loosed.

Don’t run away in your midnight hour. Don’t run from your enemies. Bless them. If your enemies are sick, God wants you to lay hands on them, and they shall recover and be filled with the Holy Ghost. In the end, they’ll become your brothers and sisters.

God is going to give you sudden manifestations for the visions He’s given you for your ministry. Stop talking about what’s not happening and start talking about what is happening. Expect God to move suddenly. Seize your opportunity with prayer; seize it with your praise. Seize it by going forth and acting on the Word of God. When you hear, receive and speak the Word of God, the enemy will not be successful in anything he tries to bring against you. There will be nothing the enemy can do to you.

The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever! He will be good with your ministry. He will be good with your body. He will be good with your family. He will be good with your money. He will be good with everything in your life, and you will see His goodness suddenly!
