Evangelism: The Heart of God

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. ” 2 Corinthians 5:17-19
At the New Birth we are all given a ministry call from God Himself. When a person gets Born Again they receive the very nature and life of God in their human spirit. Where they were once separated from God, they now become one with Him and at peace with Him. (Romans 5:1)
Second Corinthians 5:18-19, says that God has given the believer the ministry of reconciliation and has committed unto the believer the word of reconciliation. The Greek definition of reconciliation means "to exchange" and "restoration to divine favor". Our Father's heart is to see mankind experience an exchange in their nature and to be restored to divine favor with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. This is where every believer's and ministry's focus should be. It should be at the heart of all that we do.
It's important to take time to re-evaluate yourself and your your ministry; ensure that the Father's goals for mankind are your goals for mankind.
“Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” St. John 14:12
Jesus said, the works that He did, we shall also do. Let's examine our lives and ministries to determine if Jesus' words are alive and in operation. Jesus made a bold statement to the Jews about the impotent man at the pool of Bethesda. He said, "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do." (St. John 5:19)
The works of God through His sons and daughters should be common place. Begin again to long for the sin-sick soul to be saved, the sick riddled body to be made whole, the oppressed and bound to be set free, the poor to be made rich, and the brokenhearted to be restored. These are the acts and deeds of God available for mankind through His Son Jesus Christ.
Our Father needs a conduit and you and your ministry are it! The story we tell is not a fairy tale. It is real. It is the Almighty God, the Creator of all, beckoning us to yield our lives and ministries for His direct purpose and plans in the earth. He wants to breathe through your life and ministry to resurrect dead situations and deliver mankind from the darkness of the enemy.
The Father's Love
Our Father is Love. He loves us all with an everlasting love. He longs to work His works of love through us and the ministries that He has given to us. Allow God to demonstrate His love through you every day and in every way.
Determine to yield your life and ministry to God even more. Jesus, His disciples and the Generals of God had to yield to God in the same manner for their God given assignments to be fulfilled. We are God's Generals in these last days. God is waiting on us to fully position ourselves for His glory!
His glory is fully manifested as we stay connected to Him through prayer. Prayer ignites the manifestation of God's anointing. It allows you to be sensitive to His voice and guidance. It gives you a glimpse into the very heart of God toward mankind. Mankind is lost and hurting, but most of all mankind is waiting on YOU!
Sowing Seeds for the Kingdom – Outreach
When you sow seeds of God's love, His compassion, and His kindness on a consistent and bold basis in your world, community and in your surrounding neighborhoods, expect to see a harvest! Outreach is "reaching out" with the Gospel of Christ. In essence, it is spreading God's love outside the walls of the church and leading those who are eternally lost into the eternal Kingdom of God. When reaching out, we have the opportunity to reach people who would have never stepped into a church building. Mathew 9:38 states, "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."
The Outreach Ministry at Word of Faith (Southfield, MI) has radically intervened into the lives of the lost, wearied and discouraged. Since its inception over 20 years ago, our leadership has always had a heart to save the lost and has compelled us to do the same.
We rejoice with every report of how God's Word is changing lives in our communities and across the globe with the 24-Hour Prayer Center. Annually, the Prayer Center handles over 67,000 calls. The (14) arms of our Outreach Ministry (such as the Nursing Homes, Jails/Prison, Soul Winning Attack Team, to name a few) touches over 20,000 people annually. This is a labor of love. We couldn't do this alone. Our Outreach Department has more than 450 volunteers who allow God to demonstrate His love through them.
God wants the Gospel preached worldwide. Therefore, as "Faith Leaders" we can't be passive about evangelism or outreach. Whatever our gifts…whatever our talents and resources, we need to work as faithful stewards and servants of what God has given liberally to us all.
The Good News of Jesus Christ is for everyone, everywhere. God wants to use our lives to reach our world for Jesus Christ. Let Him get His due glory!
