Ten Benefits of Favor

  1. Those with whom you have favor will work for your good.

“But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison ” Genesis 39:21

Joseph had been serving in Potiphar's household, and Potiphar's wife made a move on Joseph when her husband was gone. Joseph, however, refused to play. He ran out the door, and she grabbed him, getting his coat. She reported to her husband that Joseph had tried to rape her, and Joseph was unjustly thrown in prison. Because of God's favor, Joseph became known as having the Spirit of God on him. Pharaoh made him the prime minister over all of Egypt, and he eventually became the savior of Israel, including his entire family. Keep trusting God! He's working all things out for your good!

  2. God will restore everything to you that was lost.

“And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go. And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty.” Exodus 3:20-21

God said that not only was He going to give the Israelites favor but also give them everything they needed by cleaning out their enemies. God is no respecter of persons. If you have favor with him, He not only will deliver you but also give you what you need and more. You can turn to the devil and laugh.

  3. You will have favor in the midst of adversity.

“ And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people. ” Exodus 11:3

God will give you favor in the midst of hard times, in the midst of troubled situations. He will give you favor when it's tough for you. That's when you need favor, and that's when God will be there for you.

  4. You will experience increase in real estate and assets.

“ And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south. ” Deuteronomy 33:23

God has given such an increase to many of our churches. At the Word of Faith in Southfield, for example, we increased from 6 acres to 110 acres! When you have favor with God, He'll cause you to have favor with the ones that own the cars, own the land, and own the property. There's nothing the devil can do about it. He can try, but when he tries, you can turn to the devil and laugh.

  5. You will have great favor against impossible odds.

“ For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses. ” Joshua 11:18-20

Joshua wasn't moved by how big the mountain was or how many armies were coming against him. He knew he had favor and that his enemies were going to lose because they didn't have favor with God. Your enemy may be strong, but your God is stronger! He's more powerful. He has more inside information. He has all you need, and there's nothing the devil can do about it.

  6. You will have recognition where you may feel least likely to get it.

“ And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer. And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight. ” 1 Samuel 16:21-22

David was just a shepherd boy, but he found favor in the sight of the King. You may feel as if you're on the bottom rung of the ladder, but God will give you favor. You may be the entry-level person. You may be the receptionist. You may be the janitor. You may be someone nobody else on the depth chart will ever know, but God will cause you to meet the person at the top and receive favor. When God gives you favor, he opens the door and changes hearts and makes ways that no other man can make. There is nothing the devil can do about it but watch you laugh at him.

  7. You will receive preferential treatment.

“ And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti. ” Esther 2:17

The King was tired of his wife and kicked her out, so every virgin in the kingdom was lined up so the King could look at them.  He chose Esther over all the other virgins to be his wife.

  8. Favor produces petitions and grants from ungodly civil authority.

“ What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed. ” Esther 5:6

Later, Esther had a request, and she made her request of the king, even though it was not lawful to appear before him unless summoned.  The king may have turned everybody else down, but when when he saw Esther, he gave her favor and granted her request.

  9. You will have favor in the areas of policies, rule and regulations.

“ And said, If it please the king, and if I have favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's provinces. ” Esther 8:5

When you have favor, God can change the policies to your advantage. The people in charge may have to rewrite the rules. They may say, "Well, this is our policy, but we're going to change it." There's nothing the devil can do about it.

  10. You will win battles that you didn't even have to fight.

“ For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. ” Psalm 44:3

Step out in faith! Ask God for favor with the powers. Thank him for the favor, even before you see it manifest. Give God the glory and testify to others. God is on your side!
