A Year of Victory Over Death and Manifested Love

Every now and then the Lord will speak to me about things that are to come and ask me to share that with the ministries for which I am responsible, even though I don’t stand in the office of a prophet. Last year was one of great grace for our country as God attempted to turn people back to Him. The years 2014 and 2015 are going to be years of judgment. Israel will become embroiled in a military conflict of major proportions, and there will be attacks in and on America. Whether or not these attacks are massive and highly successful or are smaller and less successful depends upon the prayers of the saints.

God wants to show Himself powerful! God wants to protect you! Even though the world may be facing tumultuous times, God wants you to know that this can be a year of victory over death and manifested love for you!

Contend for Life

God’s Word gives you specific instructions for living a life of victory over death. In order to have victory over death, you need to fight the good [beautiful, valuable, and worthy] fight of faith [trust, confidence, reliance, assurance, persuasion, and belief], lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12). Notice that the purpose of this fight is to seize eternal life—zoe, life as God has it—and to acknowledge that. God’s life is greater than any type of death that satan can perpetuate.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even [y]our faith (1 John 5:4). You use your faith to have the full manifestation of this life, not to have a new car, home, clothes, or a vacation. When you have the life of God, everything else follows. The very life of God cures you of sickness and disease, depression, poverty, or anything else satan can perpetuate, because the life in the Word of God is stronger than satan’s death and destruction.

The woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5 was made whole—restored physically, emotionally, and financially—when she fought the good fight of faith and seized the life of God. In that same chapter, Jairus received his daughter returned to life. Both the woman and Jairus received their victory over death in the same way: by expressing faith through their words, by going to Jesus, and by refusing to allow fear to control them.

Refuse to Draw Down Death

Faith and life oppose fear and death. Faith and fear are both faith-based spiritual forces on the same continuum: one is faith in God, and the other, fear, is faith in death. All fear is fear of death. Thus, you are not afraid of flying or driving; you are afraid of dying.

People make wrong decisions every day because of their fear of death and its bondage. In fact, the first wrong decision ever made was fear based. Adam had God’s word that he could eat of everything except the fruit of the tree of good and evil, and he was given a consequence if he did so: God told him, “The day you eat, you will die.”

Then satan, the spirit of fear and death, came along and lied to Eve, saying, “No, that won’t happen!”

Adam had a choice. He could stay connected to God and continue to draw from that spirit of life, or he could connect to satan. He drew from that death and died spiritually. That death flowed right on into the human race.

God had a hedge of protection around Job, but after death and destruction entered his life, Job confessed that the things that he had feared had come upon him (see Job 3:25). Job’s lack of faith had torn down God’s wall of protection and connected him to death. The day he returned to trust and confidence in God, praying for his friends, the Lord returned and restored to Job double what he had lost.

Experience Victory Over Fear

Christian, it is time for you to grow up in Christ! There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment (1 John 4:18). No wonder that often when Jesus approached someone in the Gospels, He led by saying, “Fear not.” To fear not is to cut death’s source of power.

This is a year of victory over death, which means it is year of victory over fear. You have been made free, but you must decide to fight the good fight of faith and connect yourself to the Spirit of life, the Holy Ghost, and draw from His miraculous power. You can do all things through Christ (see Philippians 4:13). You can connect your faith to Him and draw all of His life, goodness, ability, and power!

Know God’s Manifested Love

Because God so loved you, He gave His Son Jesus so that you could have eternal life (see John 3:16). Love is the underlying basis of faith, just as fear is the underlying basis of death. When you know and believe fully that God loves you, you are willing to place your faith in Him and His plan for your life.

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (see 1 John 3:8): mankind’s enslavement to the fear of death and its torment, and mankind’s condemnation to share satan's future, the lake of fire. Through the blood of Jesus, you have victory over death (see Hebrews 2:14). Sin gave death its power to harm you, but Jesus came to save you from your sins! Satan doesn’t have the power of death any more!

This is a year of great triumph over the spirit of death when he comes to steal, kill and destroy, to plant seeds of doubt, depression, and unbelief. When you lay hold of the very life of God and resist the devil, satan has to flee. Life is stronger than darkness! Life is stronger than death!

Follow the Divine Pattern

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest [reveal, inform, and appear] myself to him (John 14:21). Saying, “I love you, Lord” is not sufficient; you show your love by doing things the way Jesus did (see John 14:12). To follow this divine pattern, you must:

  • Seek and receive God’s Word on the subject,
  • Believe in the truthfulness of that Word,
  • Speak that Word,
  • Act upon that Word, and
  • Get out of the way and let the Father do the works.

Every day there is a fresh word from God for your life and your situation, a new opportunity for you to follow the divine plan. When you follow His plan, He has promised to reveal Himself to you, particularly when you need Him. That is manifested love!

Show Forth God’s Love

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected [completed and accomplished] in us (1 John 4:11-12). In other words, you are a child of God, and you have God’s DNA. You have His life, His light, and His love. Because you walk in love and have no strife with anyone, there’s no way you can fail.

Put on Glory

Jesus walked with the anointing—the Holy Ghost, the manifest presence of the glory of God. In order for you to see victory over death and manifest love, you, too, must walk in that anointing. You dawn glory when you refuse to allow bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking in your life. You dawn glory when you tell the truth, when you put off your former way of life (see Ephesians 4). You dawn glory when you walk like a new creation in Christ Jesus, living in forgiveness, peace, and mercy.

Believer, put on glory by walking in the Spirit, allowing Him to dictate every move you make. Walk in faith in the love of God and the power of God. Connect to the life of God, and draw down His protection and His provision. When you do so, the move of God in your life and in your nation will be miraculous beyond what you have seen!

Pray for the United States of America

Several things open our nation to calamity. The first is how we choose to deal with Israel. God says that He will bless those that bless [Israel], and curse those who curse [Israel] (see Genesis 12:3). The second is how we respond to the sin that is running rampant in our nation, especially the sin of homosexuality and the sin of abortion. The third is the general moral decline of a nation as seen in the removal of God from our institutions, government, and public square along with the persecution of those who do stand for Him.

God says, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14). The church has to be the salt of the earth and light of the world. Join with me and our churches and various ministries in praying specifically for the following things:

  • Pray that the church repent of its apathy, complacency, compromising, sins of omission, sins committed in secret, withholding of life, and failure to fulfill its call.
  • Ask God to forgive the nation for the moral and spiritual decline and degrading of our culture.
  • Ask God to forgive the nation for her carnality, impurity, greed, materialism, vanity, and self-obsession.
  • Ask the Lord for mercy on the United States of America.
